IWAKAN Magazine

        IWAKAN is a queer magazine based out of Tokyo, Japan. Each issue has a theme, and this issue’s theme being about love, I created a 2-page spread on my interpretation of the theme.

With the title ‘Decision to Dive,’ the resulting illustration focuses on the ‘self’ aspect of love. After a hard break-up, how does one recover and decide to dive back into dating and love again? With the landscape and waters suggesting the contours of a body, the illustration suggests that one method could be by exploring self-love first.
